Waipārūrū Hall opened its doors for the first time this year as the largest catered school leaver hall in New Zealand. This exciting new residence is now home to 786 residents. The Hall is Auckland University's first residence to offer a new catering style with multiple food serving stations offering a variety of food from different cuisines - from pizza through to dumplings, salads and Indian dishes.
Located just 5 minutes' walk from the heart of the Auckland City Campus, residents also enjoy generous communal facilities including study spaces as well as games and recreation space.
FPG was pleased to be chosen to work on this special project. We worked with the University, Dominion Constructors, and Wildfire Commercial Kitchens & Bars to develop the new multi station front-of-house foodservice area. FPG developed the servery designs to meet the requirements of the University and to complement the production kitchen which was designed and installed by Wildfire. We also manufactured the joinery base fixtures and a range of heated and refrigerated Inline GN Series food display units. Paul Aston, FPG NZ Sales Director comments, "One of our strengths is that we have inhouse capability to provide the seamless integration of joinery and food displays. The benefits for residents are improved flow and function, and fewer queues and wait times. Personally, I am very pleased with the results and trust that they will be too."
